Providence College Senior Emily Sisson is set to compete at the USA Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. Sisson will run in the 10,000 meter finals on June 20 at 9:20 p.m. E.T. at Drake Stadium.

USA Hockey announced on Friday, June 14 that Providence College men's hockey goalie Jon Gillies was one of four goalies invited to the National Junior Evaluation Camp, Aug. 3-10, in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Providence College senior Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y) finished 11th in a time of 10:10.76 in the final round of the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, June 8. For her efforts, Greany earned her third career All-America accolade in the steeplechase. She was named a Second Team All-American after the race.

Providence College juniors Emily Sisson (Chesterfield, Mo.) and Laura Nagel (Napier, New Zealand) each earned All-America honors on Friday, June 7 in the 5,000 meters at NCAA Track Championship in Eugene, Ore. Sisson placed sixth in a time of 15:58.40 to earn First Team All-America honors. Nagel finished 12th (16:15.08) and was named Second Team All-America. Dartmouth's Abby D'Agostino won the race in a time of 15:43.68.

Providence College women's soccer Head Coach Jim McGirr announced today, Friday, June 2, that Emily Holbrook and Matt Kagan have been named assistant coaches for the women's soccer program. The duo will join the Friars immediately and will look to help Providence build upon its 2012 campaign.

Providence College senior Shelby Greany (Suffern, N.Y.) ran the seventh best time of 24 runners on Thursday night in the semifinal round of the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Eugene, Oregon. Greany placed fourth in her heat in a season-best time of 10:02.99. Emma Coburn of Colorado ran the top time in the 3000 steeplechase heats, finishing in a time of 9:46.76. Since she finished in the top 12, Greany advances to the Finals, which will be held on Saturday at 5:57 p.m. EST.

It was announced today that the Providence College Athletics Department has launched a Mission 4 Million fundraising campaign, which it hopes will enable the Department to raise over $4 million dollars by June 30, 2013. The Athletics Department has fundraised a record $3.6 million this year and for the first time ever is striving to reach the $4 million mark in a fiscal year.
